Choosing Pet Friendly Hotels In Spain:

Choosing Pet Friendly Hotels In Spain:

When you are planning your next vacation and thinking about bringing little puppies with you, the first step in ensuring an enjoyable trip is to stay at pet friendly hotels.
There are numerous destinations to choose from, and nowadays in the United States alone, airports are pet friendly, and even have dog cages, designated litter boxes and some even have pet store and pet grooming centers. These amenities are some of the perks that you need to check with your hotel of choice. As some hotels are pet-friendly, more are now pet-welcome.

Before you begin your trip, make sure you secure the following:

·         Your pet's documentary requirements like papers, doggie book, and a new ID tag with your pet's name, your name and address and contact number
·         Pack your dog's food and water tray, bedding, litter box and leashes. It is always great to go prepared.
·         Keep a small bag of medicines, first aid kit and your dog's medical history book.
·         Consult your veterinarian before setting out on the road. It is important to have your pet checked to ensure your pet is in good health to travel.
·         Carry a pet crate or kennel just in case your hotel would request your pet to be kenneled when left inside the room. Kennels are safe ways to travel your pet around in too.

Recently, I went on a road trip with my little one and our pet Labrador. I was a bit apprehensive about the trip, thinking it would be like carrying two toddlers across country. So about a month before we set out, I made a research on the country's pet-friendly accommodations and I have come up with a few hotel characteristics that will serve as my benchmark for making a choice:

·         The hotel should welcome pets like they would welcome us. When I look for a place to stay at, it is important that there is that bit of the 'feel of home'. And regardless of the star rating the hotel has, there should be best customer service.

·         The hotel should be convenient for guests and pets. Hotels and accommodations now showcase a variety of boutiques, souvenir shops, parlors and service centers in their building lobby. A hotel I have considered has a pet shop and a pet grooming station. Similar to day care facility, the hotel will gladly take in your pooch when you want to have a bit of ME time.

·         There should be pet-friendly amenities to enjoy. Most friendly hotels have pet crates, pet travel carriers, leashes, and vehicle pet barriers that are readily available if you want to take your puppy on a tour around town.

·         The hotel should carry pet-oriented services. Pet-friendly hotels include mattresses and bedding for your puppy when requested, pet grooming supplies and extra service of walking
·         your pet, and empty litter boxes for you. There should also be an in-house veterinarian, like most hotels have an in-house physician. If the hotel does not carry a veterinarian, stay at a place where a veterinarian is nearby.
